Kristina Ramirez Jordan
This was the first poem I wrote. It was written when I was in the 7th grade as part of a writing contest for my Junior High School. It was awarded an honorable mention and more importantly started my love for gospel poetry and writing:
Christmas was a sacred day, when Christ laid His head upon the hay
When Christ our Savior came to stay
Upon the earth to toil and pray
Christmas was a sacred day, when Christ laid His head upon the hay
Christmas was a sacred day when Jesus came
The angels happy, how they sang
The joy so great, that how the heavens rang
Christmas was a sacred day when Jesus came
Christmas was a sacred day when Christ came down as a Child
The shepherds came to see Him there
He was the child so meek and mild
Christmas was a sacred day when Christ came down as a Child
Christmas is a sacred day for all who know the way
The joy and meaning of that Holy day
When Christ came and laid His head upon the hay
Yes, Christmas is a sacred day
