The more sin we commit, the farther away God moves. This was a line from my pastor’s sermon. I don't know that this is correct. I know what he was trying to say and mean, but the Bible says that He (Jesus Christ) is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. When we sin, God is not the one who moved, we are. I once had another pastor explain it like an umbrella. When we asked Jesus to forgive our sin and to come and reside in our lives we are then under the umbrella of his protection. God is the one holding the umbrella and when we sin or stray from his will, we move out from under the umbrella of his protection. If we are no longer under his protection, we are perfect targets for Satan to attack us. It is not until you confess your wrongdoing and make your way back to him and his protection that we are again under the umbrella of God's protection.
